PNC Bank and Kutztown University Launch Free Bilingual Seminar to Help Harrisburg’s Latino Entrepreneurs Fulfill Their Dreams
Beginning every Wednesday, October 12, 2011 through November 23, from 6 pm to 8 pm

A model program that has helped more than 80 Latino business owners and entrepreneurs expand or open businesses in Pennsylvania is coming to Harrisburg on October 12th. “Business Skills for Success for Latino Entrepreneurs” is a free bilingual program offered by the Kutztown University Latino Business Resource Center (LBRC) in partnership with PNC Bank and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Central Pennsylvania.

“This is about creating jobs to spur the Harrisburg economy and helping individuals who aspire to be their own bosses to achieve independence,” said Chris Rockey, PNC Vice President Community Development. “The LBRC has a proven step-by-step formula. We’re looking forward to collaborating with them and offering financial guidance to program participants.”
The free classes are on Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at PNC Bank, 1301 Derry Street. The seminars begin on October 12 and run for seven weeks.

The seminar is extremely important, especially when times are tough says Johanny Cepeda, a graduate of one of the seminars in Reading who opened Mi Casa Su Casa Café in 2007. “People are getting laid off,” she said. “This is a free opportunity for people to develop a plan of action to change their lives.”

The LBRC uses an innovative learning model of classroom lessons, online business-plan workshops, unlimited mentoring from bilingual business ...
