Winter/Spring 2011 Smart Start Clinics for Children
Harrisburg Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is proud to offer 2 FREE Smart Start clinics for our community youth. Both will offer “Hoops for Health” basketball clinic and “Kids in the Kitchen” cooking clinic for children.

In our “Hoops for Health” basketball clinic, children will learn basic skills, play fun games, and learn how basketball teaches about life skills. Each practice will also include team play.

Our “Kids in the Kitchen” cooking clinic will teach children how to safely use basic kitchen items, how to properly measure, healthy food choices and alternatives to favorite foods and appropriate portion sizes. Each class will include hands-on food preparation and tastings.

Our first session is for students ages 6-8 years old.
It is being offered from January 11th through February 17th on Tuesdays & Thursdays.
February 22nd and 24th will be make-up days.
We will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-7:30 at 1122 Green Street in Harrisburg.
* We have 20 spaces for Basketball and 10 for Cooking

Our second session is for students ages 9-12 years old.
It is being offering from March 1st through April 7th on Tuesdays & Thursdays.
April 12th and 14th will be make-up days.
*We have 20 spaces for Basketball and 10 for Cooking.

Clinics will be held at 1122 Green Street in Harrisburg.

SPACE IS LIMITED SO ENROLL TODAY!!!
We will maintain an active waiting list and may possibly offer a 3rd session based on demand.

Enrollment forms can be downloaded at www.salvationarmyharrisburg.org.
Go to the Community Center tab and then click on “Clinic Enrollment Form”.
You may also pick up enrollment forms at our Green Street office or request one in the mail by calling Jeff Bruce, Community Outreach Administrator at (717) 233-6755 x29.
